Veteran Atlanta publisher Deborah Eason is at it again.
In April 2002, the founder of Creative Loafing quietly re-entered the publishing business by starting The Story, a small alternative newspaper on Atlanta’s West side. In December, she added a Midtown edition of The Story and purchased the Community Review and DeKalb Community Journal, two community papers with a loyal following.
What these papers have in common is an uncanny ability to present stories before they’ve become stories. They dig down to the roots of Atlanta’s intown neighborhoods by covering issues just as they're starting to take shape.
This core strength has not gone unnoticed by readers of The Story, Community Review and DeKalb Community Journal. And now, Eason and company are embracing this strength as the essence of The Story brand.
Already, circulation has climbed to over 50,000. Armed with a new framework for The Story brand, developed by POV, Eason is planning some exciting changes for the family of newspapers. Pick one up in Atlanta’s intown neighborhoods, or go online at www.the-stories.com.
